On March 11-12, 2019, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Actual problems of tourism development” was held on the basis of Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism (SCOLIPE).
The conference is being held for the third year, and this year 117 people attended the event in person and 94 in absentia.
The conference was attended by delegates from 7 countries: France, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Syria, Iran, Turkmenistan, China; Canada, Armenia, Uzbekistan participated in absentia. Conference participants represented 22 regions of the Russian Federation, 35 cities of the world.
Margarita Polonik, President of the Association, made a presentation on the development of gastronomy tourism in Russia. “Gastronomic tourism is the locomotive of the regional economy, since regardless of the seasons it can provide a steady flow of tourists and, therefore, money in regional business. Also, gastrotourism is an excellent base for tourist export – export of tourist impressions and gastronomic souvenirs from the country, which is accompanied by the simultaneous import of money by the tourist into the country, ”Polonik shared in her speech.
The conference participants unanimously supported the idea of developing gastronomic tourism as a locomotive for the development of domestic and inbound tourism in our country. It was noted that the proposals of Margarita Polonik seem to be very promising, real, fully realizable and most importantly, low-cost.
The conference was also attended by experts of the Association. Vasily Gerneshy, Director of Hotel Business and Tourism Institute of RUDN, told about the peculiarities of personnel training for the tourism industry. “The modern realities of the tourist market require the development and implementation of innovative, progressive and practically significant technologies, methods and approaches for the development of domestic and inbound tourism, the training of highly professional, initiative, competent personnel for the tourism industry,” concluded Gerneshy .
Mikhail Morozov, a professor at the Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Sport of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, D.Sc. (Econ.), Professor: “Forming digital competencies is becoming one of the competitive advantages of staff in the tourism and hospitality industry.”
Now the new status of Russia as a country favorable for the development of tourism is being formed. Prerequisites are being created for the transformation of Russia into a developed global innovative multifunctional tourist center. In the structures of the Government of the Russian Federation, the development of a strategy for the development of tourism in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2035 is being completed. All this gives grounds to assert that the further development of tourism in our country will move in the same dynamic way.
Svetlana Anufrienko, a member of the Expert Council on Tourism of the Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs of the State Duma, drew attention in her speech to the need for effective interaction between federal, regional and municipal government bodies, participants in the tourism and business activities, research and innovation training and educational centers, objects of core and related fields of activity.
Svetlana Dusenko, organizer of the conference, summing up, noted: “The international scientific and practical conferences at SCOLIPE dedicated to the development of tourism and hospitality annually attract the interest of researchers, representatives of ministries and departments, state and municipal authorities of the Russian Federation, representatives of European and Asian embassies , leaders of public organizations, heads of educational institutions, representatives of the academic and business communities of the tourism industry and hotel on business, students not only the universities of Moscow, but also from different regions of Russia, as well as near and far abroad. “
The conference supported the positive changes occurring in the structure of domestic tourism in our country, provided an opportunity to effectively and constructively discuss topical issues, taking into account the ideas, experience, knowledge of a wide range of practitioners, professionals, scientists, the teaching staff of the tourism industry, representatives of public organizations and professional communities, to develop directions and proposals for the further development of domestic and inbound tourism in Russia.
